When clicking on the "Sort photos by" buttons at the top of the album pages, the screen refreshes but it returns the results in the exact same order, it's not actually sorting them. Any suggestions?.

Can you provide us your backend and FTP access so we can have a better look on your issue here? Please advise.
I was able to verify/duplicate this on your demo also, just click on one of the sorting buttons like Alphabetical and you'll notice that the albums are not sorted at all.
Ah I'm sorry I forgot one more file. Download the attachment below and place it inside your /administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes folder and see how it goes.
