Sorry, I have been thru the documentation and trying to understand what permission settings allow a particular user group to see the blue button "New Post" (see screen shot) -- which allows them to create NEW POSTs.

I thoroughly look at this doc: https://stackideas.com/docs/easydiscuss/administrators/configuration/acl
It does NOT seems to address Creating NEW POSTs. Only replying to them.

Odd, I am NOT allowed to reply to questions to POSTs either. What am I missing?? thx!

From the ACL section, you need to check which Joomla user group you do not want to allow them to create a new discussion or reply.

Then you can disable the ACL setting "Post New Question" and "Post New Replies" under specific Joomla user group.

If the new post icon still appears on the toolbar, can you share with us which Joomla user group you do not want to restrict the permission?

Hmm... I chose the User Group: Members then I checked Yes to:
Post New Replies and Post New Question
Why doesn't this work??
