Hai,

Permalinks (SEF URL’s)in EasyBlog.
I use SH404SEF als well.
1. Should I make my adjustments in EasyBlog or SH404SEF?
2. How/where can I change /EasyBlog into /blog?

Home of EasyBlog.
http://www.sitesuccess.nl/EasyBlog and http://www.sitesuccess.nl/EasyBlog/latest are 2 different URL’s, correct? Can I safely redirect the second URL to the first? Should I do that in SH404SEF or is there a way in EasyBlog?

Categorieën: http://www.sitesuccess.nl/EasyBlog/Categories/Listings/google-webmasters-tools
1. How/where can I change the word categories ?
2. Listings: I do not want this word in the Permalinks. How/where can I change that?

Tags: http://www.sitesuccess.nl/EasyBlog/Tags/Tag/handleiding
How/where can I remove /Tag?

Regards, Maurice
Hello Maurice,

Sorry for the late reply. If you are using sh404SEF then you should use this to make adjustments. So yes you can redirect the http://www.sitesuccess.nl/EasyBlog/latest to http://www.sitesuccess.nl/EasyBlog safetly in sh404SEF. As for changing the EasyBlog word, please setup a menu item for EasyBlog which Title is Blog to that sh404SEF will use the menu title Blog instead. Also you will need to delete the previous EasyBlog URLs form the sh404SEF URL manager and let it regenerate for this to work.

If you need further help on this please send me your backend and FTP so that I can check it out. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Thanks!
a part is clear now.
I still need some advise about:
Categorieën: http://www.sitesuccess.nl/EasyBlog/Categories/Listings/google-webmasters-tools
1. How/where can I change the word categories ? Not possible in EasyBlog?
2. Listings: I do not want this word in the Permalinks. How/where can I change that? Do I need to change every single blog post in SH404SEF that has the word listings in it?

Hello Maurice,

i am really sorry for the delay of this reply. Kindly please find the answers to your inquiries below:

1. How/where can I change the word categories ? Not possible in EasyBlog?

You can actually modify this from the language file which is located in /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easyblog.ini . Just locate for the string below:

COM_EASYBLOG_SH404_VIEW_CATEGORIES="Categories"

2. Listings: I do not want this word in the Permalinks. How/where can I change that? Do I need to change every single blog post in SH404SEF that has the word listings in it?

Hm, unfortunately that's not possible currently but here's what you can try, edit the language file above and locate the codes below:

COM_EASYBLOG_SH404_LAYOUT_LISTINGS="Listings"

Replace it with,

COM_EASYBLOG_SH404_LAYOUT_LISTINGS=""

Hai,

Oké, I will try that.
But with all the adjustments I am making in the code, I have a lot of work when there is an update. Is it possible to store all the adjustments I make in the php- files in one special file wich will not be overwritten after/during an update?

Regards, Maurice

Hello Maurice,

There is no such file, if hacks have been done to your site please ensure to save your file path to you hacks/files and the code you have to replace. Unless if do a template override you could follow this documentation: Link --> http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/customizations/template-overriding

Please do not hesitate to contact us by replying to this email if you need further assistance.

Thanks:)

Hai,

So if I understand correctly, I can safe my overrides in this special template folder and file. Is that correct?

Yes that is correct However, do take note that although it won't get overwritten but if we release a major update like EasyBlog 4.0, you will need to update your custom overriden template

Hello Maurice,

Yes, you can install the latest update since this is not an Easyblog 4.0 update.
