Hello, I have PayPal setup where I have 2 trials each for a month and 1 final regular price payment that is set for life time.
I am getting this error from PayPal that "Things don't appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later." I do not see anything in the docs that addresses this or any additional setup needs to be done for PayPal.
According to your current plan configuration, I suspect this issue is related to the recurrence count you set to 1.

The "Number of recurrence" count should be greater than 1 or smaller than 50, if you want lifetime for these recurring payments then you should set it to 0. (0 means it will charge forever until the user cancel the recurring payment)

Can you try set to 0 and see if the issue still persists?

If the issue still persists, can you update your site backend and FTP access at https://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so we can better have a check?

I have tried both "1" and "0" on the recurrence and get the same results. I have given you admin and FTP access.

Also, I have this setup with a "1" on recurrence because I am breaking up a high ticket item into 3 payments.

Trial 1: 1st Payment
Trial 2: 2nd Payment
Regular Price: 3rd payment (with one recurrence)

Hey Garrett,

I am really sorry for the delayed response.

I've checked your site and found that you have set the expiration time to "LifeTime" in recurring plans which is wrong.
In case recurring plan expiration time should be an actual value like in days, month, and year.
In the case of the Paypal payment method, the recurrence count should be 0 (life time recurring payments) or greater than 1 and smaller than 50.
see attached screenshot.

You need to change the expiration time from lifetime to actual value and recurrence count from 1 in the following plans.
https://www.vfxhorde.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_payplans&view=plan&layout=form&id=56
https://www.vfxhorde.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_payplans&view=plan&layout=form&id=60
https://www.vfxhorde.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_payplans&view=plan&layout=form&id=61
https://www.vfxhorde.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_payplans&view=plan&layout=form&id=62
https://www.vfxhorde.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_payplans&view=plan&layout=form&id=66
https://www.vfxhorde.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_payplans&view=plan&layout=form&id=836

So, change the expiration time and recurrence count according to your requirement and see this issue again.

Update us if you will have any issues.

I have tried both these methods in these images and it still gives me the Paypal Error "Things don't seem to be working right".

What my goal is to have a lifetime subscription but have the user make 3 payments to get the lifetime subscription.

Thanks

Hey Garette,

I have tried both these methods in these images and it still gives me the Paypal Error "Things don't seem to be working right".
I've checked and found that in the recurring plan you are still using the Expiration time to lifetime and recurrence count to 1, that's why this issue is coming. I've changed the value for the below-mentioned plan and no longer hitting this issue. Later change the expiration time and recurrence count as per your need.

I explained the same in my previous reply here: https://stackideas.com/forums/paypal-error#reply-564393

You need to correct the expiration time and recurrence count on the below-mentioned plans.
https://www.vfxhorde.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_payplans&view=plan&layout=form&id=62
https://www.vfxhorde.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_payplans&view=plan&layout=form&id=66
https://www.vfxhorde.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_payplans&view=plan&layout=form&id=86

What my goal is to have a lifetime subscription but have the user make 3 payments to get the lifetime subscription.

If you want to make a lifetime subscription but the user needs to make 3 payments, this is currently not possible with recurring payments with Paypal.

Meaning to say that Expiration time can not be a Life time, it should be a valid value like in day/month/year.
Only you can set the Lifetime payment by setting the recurrence count to 0, Which means payment will come till the user/admin cancel the ongoing subscription.

You can not create a recurring subscription for Lifetime with 3 payments only.

Let me know if you have any confusion.
