password reset does not work

Good morning everybody,

we have a problem with resetting passwords of our subscriber.

First of all - if they forgot their password, it appears a new window on our start-site, not on the blog-site, where it should appear. That is very confusing and not very comfortable.

And the second, much more bigger problem is, that the reset-link of the email does not work.
If you forget the password, than you can request a mail with a link to reset the password.
This link does not work.

Please help me!

Hi Margitta,

It seems like you are using older version of EasyBlog. Would you mind to update to the latest version and see the issue is still persist?

p/s: as you undergo update it will effect your core file, you're suggested to backup your customization if any

Hey Margitta,

When you click on the forget password, it is being handled by Joomla and not EasyBlog. This include the e-mail and the links that are generated on the site.

If you try to access https://creabis.de/en/?option=com_users&view=reset , and try to reset your password, do you hit similar issues?

Hey Margitta,

As mentioned in my post earlier, EasyBlog doesn't handle password resets / forget username. It only generates a link to Joomla's built-in password reset and forget username feature.

What you need to do is to create a menu item (it could be a hidden one) that links to the com_users > forgot password and forget username layout.

This way, Joomla would generate a correct link for both these items (multi lingual too)

Now the "windows" appear on a new site - wunderfull.
But resetting doesnt work not just yet. Sorry.
