I'm not sure what the password field exactly does (not to be confused with "Joomla User Password"). I was hoping it could make it so that users could only sign up if they knew the password. Seems to basically be a text field that masks whatever text/numbers. If it validated against a preset password so that we could ask simple questions like "What's 5 +2", this could help prevent spammers or help out private communities.
Hey Josh,

Currently I can't recall what is the exact reason we add that, because i remember many of users complain why only have Joomla user password custom field but do not have standard password custom field in Easysocial.

Because the user can't see the masked field and the validation at best only validates if there is data, I don't see how it's a password field. Seems to be a slightly changed version of the text field. I'm guessing it's for developers? (for example if someone mapped the ES field to send login info to sites like GitHub) More specifically to login to other sites remotely.
