Hello,

When you setup an email address for parsing emails into discussions, the category permissions are not respected. So I have a category setup where only users from the Customer group can post. When I send an email from an unknown user, the email is parsed and linked to a guest user. However via the website guest users are not allowed to create discussions.

I do consider this a bug as I don't expect guests to be creating discussions in this category.
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Yes, it seems like that is bug, we only check for the ACL whether allow to add new question or not but we didn't check for the category . (screenshot : https://take.ms/bwpIT )

For now, can you disable 'Post New Question' option from backend > Easydiscuss > ACL > edit public/guest user group and see if the guest user still can able to post a new question on your site?

By the way, I will log into issue tracker.

Hello Arlex,

I have disabled the option to post for Guest users but sending an email from an unknown email address still creates a topic in a restricted category.

I cannot really disable posting for guest users because they need to be able to post in the pre-sales category.

Kind regards,

Roland
