Hi Mark/Arlex,

I'm shifting listings from a legacy component to pages in Easysocial, most of the migration is done. But i'm facing an issue which i had not foreseen before migrating.

I cant create a menu item with multiple categories, the menu item "Pages Category Layout" allows only one category (And Pages feature does not have subcategories).

The logic of needing multiple category menu layout is that we are having a Admin category (Only admins allowed to create page) which is shown in a seperate menu and user categories (Open for all members to create their pages).

In this scenario there is no way we can create two menu items One containing Admin Created Page Categories and other menu item for user created menu pages.

The above use case scenario i believe is universal and not limited to me,
imagine
Page categories for Govt Depts, Page categories for Non-Govt depts, page categories for NGOs etc.. etc..
Page categories for Hospitals, Page categories for Pharmacies, Page categories for Pathology labs etc.. etc..

Can you please guide me on a way forward. A quick hack would be highly appreciated;)

regards
Sunny
Will keep an eye on this

Hi Mark,

Let me explain:

Suppose I have following Categories for pages:

Cat 1
Cat2
Cat3
Cat4

In Cat 1 & 2 only admins are allowed to create pages
In Cat 3 & 4 anyone can create their pages

Now if i want two menu items which will show:

1) Only Pages from Cat 1 & 2
2) Only Pages from Cat 3 & 4

this is not possible

hope i've been able to explain.

Admin created pages is just for example, it can also be
Cat1 & 2 only for profile type A
Cat 3 & 4 for Profile type B

regards

Ah I see. I get what you mean now. Unfortunately right now there is no work around for this and I don't have a quick work around for this either

Hi Mark,

Actually if multi select is allowed while creating menu, it would suffice.

Even if you did selected multiple categories, the layout doesn't support rendering multi categories
