Owner of Group

Is there a way to reassign the Owner of a Group and/or Event?

Possible scenario, a member of staff who started the group leaves the company. Does it even matter, does the group owner have any special powers?

The only way to reassign the owner would be altering the data in the database. As far as the difference between group owner and admin goes, group owners has the power to delete the group. As for the other actions in a group, a group admin can pretty much get it done too provided the group ACL has been set accordingly.

So if a Group owner leaves the company, it's not going to be a major problem?

By 'leave', do you mean that the user account gets deleted?

Yes, if a member leaves the company, for security reasons, the member's account will be deleted.

When the user account of the group owner is deleted, the group will then be without a group owner(http://take.ms/eAbUh). Everything else in the group should proceed as normal.
