Here are your instructions;
To create a placeholder image override, you will need to create a folder called /images/ in the following path and paste the desired image for placeholder.

JoomlaFolder/templates/mytemplate/html/com_easyblog/images/placeholder.png

IMPORTANT: Please make sure the name of the placeholder override image is placeholder.png otherwise, it will not works.

Where exactly is this link found.
JoomlaFolder/templates/mytemplate/html/com_easyblog/images/placeholder.png

Do I need to create two folders, you state in the instructions "a folder" singular.
1)com_easyblog
2) images
Hi there,

Do I need to create two folders, you state in the instructions "a folder" singular.

It based on your current template actually. Most of them still dont have these folders created in the template itself. You can check them first using your FTP whether those folder existed or not on your site. As for example, using default Joomla template, you can check given path below. If those folders not existed, you need to manually created them on your site.

root_folder/templates/protostar/html/com_easyblog(*)/images(*)/placeholder.png

If you required more our help, it would be best if you can provide us with your backend, FTP and those images so that we can perform this for you. Please give it a try and see how it goes.

Note:
Those * in the bracket, you need to create them if there are no such folder existed on your FTP.

Hi Abdul,
I just checked a joomla site with easy blog using prostar straight out of the box and there is no "com_easyblog" folder there.
So to be accurate, the instructions should say: you will need to create a folder called /images/..... and a folder called "com_easyblog" if it's not present.
It would also be nice to know the size of the placeholder.png ??

I'm happy with the support, but not the documentation. It needs improving, proof reading and updating to the latest requirements of the Facebook app for example.

Hi Steve,

It would also be nice to know the size of the placeholder.png ??

We will included this options on the documentations also Steve

By the way, currently there are no restrictions for you to upload any size of your images of it, but it must be based on how Facebook fetch them, so that it will looks good when shared on Facebook. You can refer to links below regarding this and see how it goes.
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/best-practices

Thanks for the compliment and those comments Really appreciate them. We will update our documentations from time to time. By the way, i have logged this into our trackers and we will update them once we have changed them.

Thanks for you understanding.

Hi there,

I suspected that Facebook still cache them on their end. Maybe you can try to "Scrape" them on this URL https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/ and see how it goes.

Or maybe you can provide us with those blog post links so that we can further check on this issues. Please advice.

Hi there,

Facebook still cache them as you can see here http://take.ms/smHic. You need to scrape click on "scrape again" until it fetch it correct image. I have scraped one of them -> http://www.medicalmarijuana.com.au/medical-marijuana/cannabis/marijuana-insights-myth-or-reality and it should shown correctly now. You need to share them again on your facebook to make sure it works.

Please give it a try and see how it goes.

Hi Abdul,
wrong website, I'm auto posting from medicalcannabis.com.au. Any other posts like the example you mentioned were posted by hand, not automated and from medicalmarijuana.com.au, different site.

I still can't get the placeholder.png to work.

Hi there,

It seems that there are issues on our end where your placholder name should be using "placeholder-facebook.png" instead of placholder.png only. Maybe you can try to change it name and "scrape" it again and see how it goes.

I have noted this on our documentations to avoid more confusion.
