Override not working though overwriting file works

Hey there,

trying to rework all overrides I got on 2.0.x but suddenly an unforseen problem occured. When trying to override /media/com_easysocial/apps/user/events/events.php with template/html/com_easysocial/apps/user/events/events.php it is not working. Is there something wrong with the override path?

Overwriting the file directly makes my changes appear on the site but overriding gives no effect.
Hm, it has never been possible to override an event app file. The file /media/com_easysocial/apps/user/events/events.php is a core file from the app and it is not a template file.

You can't override the core file, you can only override the template file. Am I missing anything here?

I see. I made all changes additionally inside the override folder to remember the changes... You are totally right.
