Override html group stream

I'm looking to override some of the HTML in the stream items for my group. I tried editing wireframe/stream/item.php as well as wireframe/stream/default.item.php with no luck... Where should I be looking? In the group template it just seems to be outputting $stream->html();

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Yes, all the output stream method is using this $stream->html() , then the each stream item HTML code is under this file
JoomlaFolder/components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/stream/default/item.php

But when you modify this file, it will affected another other different type of stream as well.
