Hello,

We are looking for an extension or something that could help us crop images easily in the frontend or backend without it changing the quality or something along those lines. We would like to be able to do this from the front end!

To clarify: Our customers want a customer friendly upload manager. That way they can upload images and resize them theirselves while keeping a not too big picture in the backend of the website.

kind regards,

VanLaarhovenWebsites
Hey Christian,

To be honest I am not entirely sure if there are any extension that does this Why don't they use photoshop to do this?

Hey Mark, Dear Stackideas,

We're pretty sure it is a bug in EasyBlog version 5.0.16. In EasyBlog 3.9.24862 there is a feature that reduces the images on the ftp server. We just tested ourselves with version 3.9.24862 and version 5.0.16.

In EasyBlog 5.0.16 there is no check: "yes and no" in institutions "resize orignial images (see attachments).
In EasyBlog 5.0.16 it leaves the original images of 4mb on the ftp server. In EasyBlog 3.9.24862 original images be reduced from 4mb to 150 kb. That is the feature we want in version 5.

Can you please fix this bug with appropriate urgency? Our customer really want this to be resolved soon.

Can you specify if the bug is introduced in an update?

Kind regards,
Christian

Hey Christian,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

In Easyblog5 we actually already simplify the uploading process, when the user upload the image, the right panel will show out a list of the image source included the original size. By doing that, it give a chance to user can generating good quality images in the blog post, so the original size image will not get remove in the server.

Hey Arlex,

I understand your point of view, but in Easyblog 3 it is an option. You can set it by Yes or No if the images should be reduces on the ftp server. Thats a realy must for us. Can you guys put this option in the next release so everyeone can decide for themselves if the images should be reduce on the ftp server. Otherwise we are forced to use Easyblog 3.9.

I hope you can satisfy our desire because we love version 5.

Thanks!

Christian

Hey Christian,

We have just released 5.0.17 but we needed to push this out as soon as we can because there were over 100 different fixes and if we don't push it out soon enough, most of us are just going to spend our time on the forums fixing repetitive issues.

We will work on the original image on 5.0.18
