Hello, i want to show blogposts on frontpage sorted by date, this is no problem, as there is specific preference in backend.

But additionally i want to show all entrys, that arent shown on frontpage, alphabetically sorted and i must be blind, but i cant find any way to change order of blogentries. Neither in a menu setting nor in easyblog preferences. Please advice how to change order.

Thank you and best regads, Macjoomla

I have a little bit lost here, do you mean you would like to sort alphabetically from your blog frontend listing page?

If yes, you can configure it from backend > Easyblog > setting > layout > general > you can refer on my attached screenshot below.

Hope this will help.

Hello Arlex Wong,

thank you for the answer, but i dont understand your screenshot. And no, i dont want to sort my frontpage posts but i want to sort posts that are not shown on frontpage.

So if you go to any category with no frontend posts and lets say there are 8 posts in the category, how to get them shown up in frontend (no frontpage) for example in a menu for one category in alphabetically order?

Oh I think I got your meaning now, is it you referring single category page?

If yes, unfortunately that was not possible to configure these sorting in only single category menu item.

Currently we only have global setting for this from Easyblog backend setting, you can check my attached screenshot below.

There is no way currently to render posts that doesn't appear on the front page in a listing format. We do not have such a filter currently.

Your best bet, would be to archive these posts and have them appear under the Archived section. Though we do not have sorting options for the archive view.

Hello Mark, thank you for the answer, good to know, so i have not to search for it anymore. Maybe this kind of rendering/ordering for not frontpage Blogposts might be a good feature for a new version of EasyBlog ;-)

Best regards, Macjoomle

Thanks for updating Macjoomla. But that view is going to have a very weird name :x Non frontpage view? I think that pretty much defeats the purpose of what the frontpage status does?

If you need to filter the blog posts differently, why not just categorize accordingly (Since you can assign a post to multiple categories) or tag them accordingly?

Hello Mark, thank you for your suggestions. Initially i was just looking for something in menu configuration like "order posts alphabetically". The plan is like a directory to show newest posts on frontpage, but there is another menu to the categories and the posts in categories i wanted to show in alphabetically order. At the moment, maybe it is ok for me, but however i wondered, why you can order alpahebetically on frontpage but not for viewing post in categories.

Thank you and best regards, Macjoomla

Do you mean allow ordering filter on a single category layout menu item? I believe the single category layout menu item doesn't have an ordering because nobody really requested for it.

Perhaps this could help? http://take.ms/HJLFL but this is applied globally though.

Ops, I think I attached wrong screenshot in my previous reply.

By the way, it seems like this is new setting which only available in Easyblog 5.0.42.

As a gentle reminder, kindly start a new thread if you have any other issue in the future so it will be easier for us to manage your inquiry. I will lock and mark this thread as resolved.
