Voting to have the option to show subscription price with the VAT included in PayPlan pricing layout.
It could be made automaticaly to show when the buyer have input a VAT no. Or not if the buyer don't fill its vat no. ... Same as in your shopping chart ...

Hi again,
Well, would prefer the other way around as it is mandatory by law in Sweden for all sales to include VAT. Is that possible?

There are different possibilities depending on your customers' invoicing address:
1. You are selling only to individuals or also to registered businesses
2. You are selling only in your own country
3. You are selling in different countries within the EU
4. You are selling worldwide
5. Other

If your customer is not identified you do not know if the price should be displayed with or without VAT

Well, all of the above is well known - just want the option to display prices with or without VAT as most customers I deal with are end-users, not VAT registered businesses. Most other payment solutions I've been checking out has this feature.

Displaying prices with VAT is defacto standard in most webshops no matter they turn to business or private sector but with VAT deducted when entering a valid VAT no, for example EU VAT...

Then there should be three options to satisfy all users needs not just two options for your personal need (otherwise it is a custom development...):
- Tax included
- Tax excluded
- Both

Hey guys,

We are going through the list of the feature requests and prepping up for PayPlans 4.2. Just wondering how keen are you guys with this and how would this work? Personal and business has different tax rates. Furthermore different countries have a different tax rate too.

Hello Mark,

Stefan's point is relevant, we (Europeans) usually display prices including VAT.
In Europe personal and business tax rates are the same, they are not different.
When Businesses have provided a valid Tax Id then prices are shown without VAT (respecting EU VAT App rules).

I understand in other countries tax is different depending on the State you live in.
But as long as the tax configuration is correct then it is only a matter of displaying the price selection in the options...

For the display of prices upon preference setting:
1- Show prices including tax
2- Show prices excluding tax
3- Show both

With option 1 or 2 selected the price could be in large font size and on the second line in smaller or muted font "Tax incl." or "without tax"
With option 3 the first line is price included and the second line is price without tax

Examples of display with tax 20% European VAT (in French " htva " means without tax and " tvac " means tax included)
1-
120€
tvac
2-
100€
htva
3-
120€
100€ htva

For countries like USA, customers are used to see prices without tax and tax calculated in the checkout so there should be no issue with the current behavior or the implementation of the advanced display options of tax information...

EDIT:
See how prices are displayed at virtuemart.net
https://extensions.virtuemart.net/checkout/payments/avatax-detail

Sales price 55,10 €
Price excl. VAT: 46,30 €
Tax amount 8,80 €

Hm, does this mean that it just displays the price with and without tax irregardless if the user is tax-able or not? Just for a reference on the plans page?

In eu the vat tax is in price for all, fizical persons and juridical persons, but only the juridical persons ( companies ) registered with Vat will can deduct the vat tax. In conclusion VAT should be listed on all invoices for everyone ...

I understand but if you are not logged into the site, there is no way for PayPlans to know which tax is applicable to you. For instance, there is no way that PayPlans would know if:

1. You are purchasing as an individual or a company.

2. Which country tax is applicable to you.

Mark, "default" for on-line shopping in the EU is incl. VAT disregarding if you're and individual or a company. Therefor it is imperative that this option is of high importance for Payplans.

Showing or not the VAT must be automaticaly by checking the VAT registration number of the customer.
1. The customer is an individual person from the same country, EU or outside EU ... the VAT must show anyway.
2. The seller and the customer company have a VAT registration nr in the different country of EU space then The VAT must be shown as 0
3. The customer is outside EU the VAT must apear
4. The customer is a company in the same country of EU VAT must show.

Corect !?

I would suggest there is an option in backend to display the subscriptions with or without VAT at all times. In step two, depending on customer kind, deduct or keep VAT on the payment/invoice.

As for Sweden all invoices has to be incl. VAT. For invoices to other EU countries no VAT should apply. To the rest of the world VAT should apply.

Hope this brings clarity to the subject and glad to see you're working on it...
