Hi,

I think is very useful to have in EasyBlog an option for Open Links In New Window like EasyDiscuss has in settings/Composer/Editor/Hyperlinks. http://take.ms/CYIZ6

This option will be in settings/SEO/General and when is set to yes then the option from front-end is hidden.

If you like this VOTE for it.

Thank you.
Adding this has performance implications and I do not think this functionality outweighs the performance. I personally would prefer to have a much faster system than automatically enforcing links to open on a new tab.

In EasyDiscuss, contents are "cached" therefore processing only happens when it is stored. When rendering, it isn't processed again unlike EasyBlog because EasyBlog is an article / content that also allows 3rd party plugins to make modifications on the output. Therefore, caching is not possible.

I understand. The idea was that, most users don't check the Open in new tab checkbox and a setting similar to ED I thought that can be useful. The performance is important. If you will rethink this setting, you can put a warning that, this setting it has a down performance implication.
Anyway, I accept your explanation. Thank you for your time, Mark.

That is correct, but considering that the script has to scan every word in the content is going to have bottlenecks

A simple and cleaner way is to add a setting in backend to make the checkbox mandatory.

Hi,

A simple and cleaner way is to make this box checked by default and IF the author want to uncheck it, then this is his choice. Otherwise all the backlinks created will open in new tab by default.

What do you think about this?
