Good morning, this post is addressed to all of the community creators out there.

I am curious to know how you are keeping your communities engaged? What have you enabled, disabled, added to EasySocial to better the user experience and create an engaging social network? Are you taking a daily active approach to keep the community engaged and if so, how?

I would really like some feedback to learn how you are being successful, as well as things you have tried that simply didn't work.

Thank you,
James
Hi James,

first off I have failed but not given up with getting a community buzzing. Lots of reason why the main one being lack of time as in what I do here is a side project that I want to be center stage some day. Currently need to earn money else where.

In the world I live (video editing) there are so many sites that are just downright awful (technically) but really work as in get hits. I think the ones that work (in my video world) are the ones with a couple of people who just have a near insane drive to reach out and help other people.

Where I am at the moment is trying to create masses of videos for courses that I can launch one after the other. Fact that I am currently moving from a big city to a small city does not help as in the little time I had is been eaten away further.

I think Stack Ideas make a awesome tools and I know if I ever had a site with high traffic and something suddenly broke at the SI end they would cover my back. Maybe 2021! Who knows. I know that it is not the answer that you wanted to hear but in my opinion there is no secret sauce just elbow grease.

Thanks Paul.

I completely understand where you are coming from, it is a huge personal time commitment and when you are doing everything on your own, or essentially on your own it is overwhelming. I can say that I am a few steps ahead, we have a dedicated team of 8 working to build our social network. From technical developers through to marketing, we are tapping into everything we can to get ours off the ground.

The issue seems to be that people don't necessarily want MORE, but what they do want is something that will drive THEIR success. That is why brands like Twitter, Instagram, TikTok all have done so well, they have created these niche platforms and focused specifically on those features and over time, added new user capabilities.

With EasySocial we get that immediate BOOST, but then people from my experience look at it like, well... Facebook already does this, or Twitter does this, etc... so instead of sticking with us, they leave. However, one of the drivers that we see is the User Points and Badges, people love it, and they love the Leaderboard so we are brainstorming ways to continue to build on that.

I wish I had the secret to success, but I don't have it yet. I would say that the points, badges, and leaderboard are a good way to get users to push content on the site, be rewarded, and if done right, you can reward users who are in the top. Simple rewards are nice, small gift cards, a t-shirt, etc...

Wow good for you that sounds awesome. I sincerely hope you have your breakthrough moment.

And thanks for the tips for pushing engagement with points. It is something I will focus on more...

Do you have a link for your site to share eg you send me one paul(at)finalbug.tv

I am always curious to see what other SIers are doing....

I wish you every success and it would be wonderful if some other SIers would chip in here as well

best
