I have noticed that only the new users who have actually selected an avatar, either from our gallery or through uploading their own, are showing up in the activity stream. Is this a setting that I have control over?

Also, I cannot find people who have registered on the site by using the Friend Finder unless they have selected an icon.

The reason I want to be able to find them is to be able to welcome them and also encouraged them to upload images.
Hello Sean Carney,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Please find you answer in your queries below.
#1. I have noticed that only the new users who have actually selected an avatar, either from our gallery or through uploading their own, are showing up in the activity stream. Is this a setting that I have control over?
>> Can you provide us some screenshot which stream activity are you referring to?

#2. Also, I cannot find people who have registered on the site by using the Friend Finder unless they have selected an icon
>> Do you mean that when the user selected an icon then only can find out that registered user?
>> Can you provide us which Icon are you mentioned?

By the way, I have tried to login in your site, but i always hitting "invalid token", may i know did you face this problem before? please advise.

Thank you for replying and please accept my apology for my SLOW response back to you!

Regarding the Invalid Token message. I do see that sometimes. But, I see I am having quite a bit of a problem right now. And, it is happening every time somebody tries to login. Ouch. Thank you for making me aware of it. I am not sure what is causing it. I am trying to figure it out. That may have to be fixed before I can create the screenshots I need to make for you.

Hi Sean, Happy Thanksgiving

If you're using JFBConnect, I believe there's some sage advice in their forums relating to this issue and their SCLogin module suggesting you set Caching to Disabled in Advanced Parameters area.

If you're not using that extension and don't have this particular problem, I seem to remember there are sometimes issues with various configurations of caching options and Joomla's functions to thwart malicious use of the cms by keeping cookies to track logins; certain configurations can be problematic. You could always turn of caching as a first-debugging step and see if you can then login.

My problem with the invalid token appears to have been coming from my JCH-Optimize configuration. I will work with the developer to figure it out. But, for now I have disabled that plugin so that I can work on the original purpose of this ticket. :-) Hopefully you can tell me if what I am seeing is a bug, a feature or a configuration issue!

I have attached a copy of an image of the most recent users to my system from EasySocial.

You will notice that three of the users have an avatar which is a picture of a walnut. This is our default avatar. So, they have not selected an avatar yet but they have successfully activated their accounts. .

The two things I am trying to do after logging in as a regular user is

1) See the users in the Recent Social Activity Module on the home page:
Go to the site at https://www.Starch-Smart.com
and then login at the front end
then click on the Load previous stream items link to open up more activity
What you will see is that the three users who have not selected an avatar yet are also not visible in the users stream. But, they should be!

2) Look them up using the Friend Finder Module:
https://www.Starch-Smart.com/social
make sure you are already logged in to the front end!
then search for the names of these new users in the Starch-Smart Friend-Finder module
What you will see is that the three users who have not selected an avatar yet are also not able to be found through the people search. But, they should be.

Are these settings I have some control over? I want to make everybody visible once they have successfully authenticated.

Thank you, Sean Carney

Hello Sean,

I have just registered on your site and posted something with a user without any avatar. It does appear on the recent stream as you can see here, http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-11-29_1603.png .

Then, I tried to login with the user that you have provided and tried to search for the new user which I have just created and it appears correctly as you can see here, http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-11-29_1604.png

Thank you Mark,
What you show me indicates that all is well. I will keep my eye on this to see if the problem occurs again with my site. I believe that the folks from JCH-Optimize set up EasySocial as software to not be included in their magic. So, maybe that is what fixed this.

I also received a reply from them regarding the initial observation from Arlex Wong and the "Invalid token".

This apparently is something that the JCH-Optimize folks have seen before. Here is their comments:

"I've seen this before but generally it's the use of the cache plugin that causes this issue, especially when you use other login components than the native Joomla! login.
I normally recommend jotcache in place of the cache plugin in these instances."

But, then they also just gave me a copy of their latest version with a bunch of bug fixes in they stated that it works better now with EasySocial. So, I will let you know if this problem goes away or not. :-)
