Hello
I've purchased the app for OneSignal and have installed it. I've set up an account with OneSignal and set up the app following the instructions in the documentation, and my site asked me if I wanted to subscribe (it was at some point in the set up on the OneSignal side I think).

I can see myself as a user on the OneSignal account, and I've successfully sent myself a test message which came through to my phone.

What I am not getting is a push notification when a system message on the site would generate one, which makes me think I must have incorrectly input something in the settings of the app in Easy Social.

Please, will you take a look and check for me?

(Also, how does an already registered user become subscribed to OneSignal? Does the site request it at their next login?)

Many thanks!

Jonathan
It seems I'm getting Chrome notifications on my PC, but not on my device (but I do get the test messages on the device).
My understanding of the capabilities of OneSignal was that once subscribed I'd get notifications without being on the site on my browser?

Hi Abdul,

Update.

Because I was concerned I had done something wrong, I have deleted the original app and followed each step in the documentation again.

I have created a new app on OneSignal.
I have added the app ID and the REST API key that were generated.
I have enabled the Google Chrome and Firefox website push platforms in the app settings.

I am unsure what to put into the custom subdomain in the easysocial onesignal push app. Do I put the whole URL including https, and .os.tc or just the subdomain. I've tried both, and I still am not being prompted to allow notifications.

I think I've covered all the basic settings (like remembering to publish!)
I have allowed push notifications in my profile.

When I go to the site, I am not being prompted to allow notifications. Log out, reload. Nothing.

I have tried chrome incognito, still no prompt.

I am running Win10 with Chrome on my desktop.
I am running Chrome on Android v7

If I use the console in Chrome I get the message below. I've checked the config

Extra info
I'm getting this message also in the console.
I have cut and pasted the appID from OneSignal's dashboard, so it matches in the EasySocial app settings.

Hi there,

It seems that i can subscribed to your push notification as you can see here http://take.ms/kJNOC. Maybe you havent removed notifications on your browser as you can refer here https://pushassist.com/knowledgebase/how-to-enable-or-disable-push-notifications-on-chrome-firefox-safari-b/ and maybe you can try to clear your browser and site cache also.

Please give it a try first and see how it goes

I have tried on firefox and I have successfully subscribed, which suggests this is a Chrome issue.

I logged in on my desktop using the login details you used, it hasn't offered subscription to me. I feel it's narrowing to Chrome...

I cleared my Chrome cache (for the last week)
I logged out of Chrome and logged into the site again, no offer to subscribe.
I have looked in Chrome settings and can see the sites in the attached image.

I suppose I need to tell my browser that I haven't decided about this site yet so it prompts me to accept or decline notifications.
No idea how to do that!

Ok, further update!

I have cleared my cache across all devices and it prompted me to resubscribe for notifications (Hurray!)

If I receive a site notification, it sends me a pop up in (desktop) Chrome and Firefox.

However, I am not getting those notifications to my mobile device.

I can send test messages from OneSignal and they *do* arrive at my mobile device.

So, the question is - why am I getting tests from Onesignal to mobile, but not page notifications (but they are going to desktop browser)
Attached pic shows three recipients for test (Firefox, Chrome and mobile) but only 2 for the notification.

Hi there,

I tried to replicate this on my mobile and it seems that i received those push notifications as you can see on attached image.

I tested this by using testuser(newly created user) liked on my(admin2) user post. Maybe you can try to apply steps prompted on above reply as quoted below on your mobile phone and see how it goes.

Please advice.
