In the backend under Categories, I set "Writing" as the default category. I then created a bunch of Composer templates. All of the templates have defaulted to a different category, namely "Painting/Photography."

Why does this happen? What is the value of setting a default if it is ignored by the templates? How can this be changed?

You have indicated earlier that categories can not be assigned to templates, but in fact the system does assign one, and it's the wrong one! Perhaps it can be changed in the database??

Many thanks as always,
Andrew
Hi there,

May i know from which view you know that those template are assigned to a category? Currently, as from what i check on the Database and at backend, as you can see here respectively http://take.ms/GRsq3 and http://take.ms/abHCp

Can you provide us with more details so that we can check them further. Maybe you can provide us with attachment or links for better understanding. Please advice.

I don't know what you are looking at it, but its not the site I am referring to...creatrix.gallery/newsite2

I created a series of custom templates (see attach). When you use any of them, they are set to a default category of Painting/Photography and the word "primary" is set next to the category name. The actual default is set as Writing. Whey do the custom templates ignore the default...how did they get set as Painting/Photography...how can this be changed?

Thank you.

Hi there,

Currently, it is not related to your current template actually as i tested them and it pointing to correct categories using backend post creation. It seems that your current menu item(frontend) that checked that particular categories as you can see here http://take.ms/fi40U. I have changed them and it should assign to correctly now.

Please give it a check and see how it goes.
