This is my third attempt at using EB 5, 3.9 was a lot friednly to use, i understand 5. has more features but the learning curve is steep.

What does not help is the way EB 5 works differently it appears on each setup.

Having updated my dev version of the site to V5, i was able to use the inbuilt editor to embed a video from youtube. This worked fine with no issues. Now understand the dev version of my site was imaged from the live version 2 days ago, nothing else has been changed since then.

After sussing out all the quirks i backed up the settings from the dev site, and upgraded the live site. I imported the settings and ammended some old posts.

However one post i needed to re-write due to the issue with embedding videos, so i opened up the post creator and selected embed youtube block.

I clicked the position i wanted and pasted the youtube video link which is in the format requested.
The box goes white and states loading embedded player.

Then nothing. if i click on the box again i will either get the green outer border or i will be asked for the link again. If i save and retry the same thing it just does not pull in the video at all.

If i do this on the dev site it pulls it in without an issue.

Both servers are running same os php etc etc its a true replica of the live site.

The dev site i updated by uploading the component, the live site via the api key and web install that was the only change.

Im creating this is superuser so no iframe issues etc
Just for the record also, when you view the page, the xisting youtube video shown in the blod listings was created in the old 3.9 and not 5

Hey Andy,

Hm, it seems like Youtube is preventing access from your site. By any chance are you on Amazon S3 and you are on one of their Frankfurt region? We have other customers who has same issues and it's because Youtube has blacklisted the set of ip addresses from this region.

Hey Andy,

The "old school" way does not connect / crawl youtube's site to obtain data from Youtube. The "new school" way actually crawls the link that you have pasted, and scrape the necessary information from Youtube. However, for some reasons, youtube might be blocking ip addresses from this region and in particular OVH RBX. Are they around Frankfurt?

With the old school way, you will lose out lots of rich meta data By the way, this is the error that is being returned by Youtube, http://screencast.com/t/kK0xu6Ix when EasyBlog tries to crawl the video.

Hey Andy,

Most likely this is on the opcache layer because it caches my php codes

Dont worry about this any more, decided to host the video myself, although it wouldnt accept the .m4v file i uploaded moaned about something not avaliable to play it, but sorted now

2 things however - i cannot for the life of me find the setting not to have the video show in the featured / cat listingpage only in the post itself

Also the update you pushed has faulty titles for the additional tabs you implemented

Hey Andy,

I am sorry that delay of this reply,

May i know your video issue is it resolved?

Regarding with your 2 question below :

2 things however - i cannot for the life of me find the setting not to have the video show in the featured / cat listingpage only in the post itself

You can set from your backend > Easyblog > settings > layout > truncation > Position of videos after truncation - do not show on the listing view , so all the video block will not show on the listing page.

Also the update you pushed has faulty titles for the additional tabs you implemented

This will be fix in next release version.
But now you can download the latest launcher installer from http://stackideas.com/dashboard then upload the installer file through in Joomla installer, it should fix this issue.
