I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I have the settings configured such that an author should be notified when someone subscribes to their blogs.

Unfortunately this is not happening...an email is sent to the subscriber confirming that they have subscribed, but the author does not receive a notification.

Based on what i checked the code, it seems like the system only notify to the author when someone subscribe on their blogger page instead of their blogs. But I will check with our team regarding this and update you on this coming Monday.

Also can an author manage subscriptions to their posts. For example, if a blogger gets subscribed to by someone they don't want to subscribe, can they block the subscription?

I do see where an admin can delete a subscriptionunder "Subscriptions" in the back end, but nothing from the front end. Perhaps it's in the notification email mentioned above (which isn't being sent, or so it seems.)

Yes, for the registered user can able to manage their subscription from the manage subscription page, you can refer on my attached screenshot below.

For those guest user subscription, they can unsubscribe from their subscription confirmation email or when they get notified new post published, they also can able to unsubscribe through that email notification.
