Notifications sent too soon in workflow

We have a site whose posts are moderated. But it seems that a notification email is sent when a blog post is submitted, not when it is approved by a moderator. That is subscribe to see new posts, but I get an email when one is submitted, not when one is approved and published.

Is there a way to change this behavior. Thanks.

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. If the post is moderated, you get an email because you are the admin of the site and the system needs you to moderate the post I am not really sure if that is an issue since it is necessary for the admin to know that a new blog post is pending review / moderation ?
