Hey guys,

I am currently working on getting our forums finalized, and need some assistance with getting our notifications working. There is definitely something up with them as I do not think they have ever worked. I have played with a number of the settings to no avail... I could really use some direction here.

When I log in as the user 'Site Admin' and 'Create' a new post, I can see that it has been entered successfully on the administrator back-end of the site, but my moderator users are not receiving notifications that there are pending posts.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Regards,
Jeanette
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a public holidays for us here.

Do you mean you would like those moderator can able to receive the system notification from the toolbar instead of email notification when someone publish a new discussion post on the site right?

By the way, this is my current IP address : 1.32.16.143

Thanks Arlex, I have added your IP. Yes, when someone submits a NEW ticket, I need the moderators to see that there is a new ticket for them to manage on the front end. Moderators will only be managing tickets/responses from the front end and not the back-end.

Currently moderators are not getting any notification that a request came through and have no way to access the actual new ticket in order to respond.

As well, when the Moderator responds to the ticket - again, no notification appears in the users Toolbar.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a public holiday for us here.

Okay, got it.

I've tested in my locally, it seems like currently system do not have send system notification to moderator, it only send through the email notification, I will log this into our issue tracker.

Regarding this issue http://take.ms/NAvHw , do you mean even there got pending post when you check from backend (http://take.ms/pkC9K) but it doesn't show this pending post from the frontend moderator user account?

By the way, it seems like you response me very late so my current IP address already get updated so unable to access your site.

Is there a way temporary disable this IP restriction? Or try add our office IP address first 60.51.110.162 so I will check your issue when I reach office tomorrow morning.

I at office now, update us once you add our current IP address 60.51.110.162 into your server whitelist so I can continue investigate this issue.

Also remember check my previous reply, because I would like to know whether I understand your current issue.

Hi Arlex,

I have added your office IP to our list. I think you will see what I am talking about once you get in there. None of the notifications are working. So essentially, we are not getting any notifications in the 'Notification's' module at all.

Unfortunately, I am not authorized to lift the restriction, so hopefully we can get you in!!

Let me know what you find!

Thanks

Hi Arlex,

I've gone ahead and added your country to our site - I think you should be able to get in now. Just as an update - one of the biggest issues I am having is that Moderators or SuperUsers are NOT receiving any 'Pending Posts' or 'Notifications' that a new post has been made. So Moderators have no idea there is a new post.

Moderators on our site will be the following User Groups; Support User, Support Admin, Global Admin and SuperUser.

NOTE: This is a test site, you do not have to worry about messing anything up!!!

Sorry Robert, I still unable to access your test site.

Are you unblock Malaysia country correct?

Just as an update - one of the biggest issues I am having is that Moderators or SuperUsers are NOT receiving any 'Pending Posts' or 'Notifications' that a new post has been made. So Moderators have no idea there is a new post.

If you referring system notification (http://take.ms/1BWKH), currently we do not have generate these system notification for the moderation post, but I already log into issue tracker.

By the way, can you download my attached file then replace into this file and see how it goes?
Make sure that you have backup the original file before you replace it JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easydiscuss/includes/post/post.php .

Once you replace the file, you have to ensure that you have configure this following thing before you test submit a new discussion post in frontend :
- Activate moderation post setting
- Enable notify new post/reply to admin and moderator
- Select those Superadmin and moderator user group under each of your categories.

You can refer my attached screenshot below.

Then only login as registered user account and submit a new discussion.

if you still doesn't get any system notification for this, I think we need to schedule a time so I can remote control on your desktop computer in order to check this, if not I have no ideas how to investigate this without access your site.

Thanks for understanding.
