Hi, i have enabled the notifications from the backend for 'Notify admins on new posts' and 'Notify moderators on new posts' but neither seem to send an email to the joomla administrator or moderators. The email settings are working as they send the user registration details. I have added an email account into the 'email parser' section and tested, but does not make a difference. Regards James
Hey James,
I am not familiar with vps.net. However, you can refer to our documentations here on how to set up cron jobs, depending on which cronjob service you are using.

Hey Pascal,
Can you start a new thread and elaborate more on your issue so we can assist you better? Thanks.

Hello James,
I am not able to replicate this locally. Can you provide us your backend and ftp access at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so we can investigate this on your site and understand the issue better? Thanks.

Hey James,
It seems the credentials you provided is not working as I'm unable to access your backend. Please advice, thanks.

Edit:
My mistake, I realized the username is actually without the email format.

Hey James,
Just to clarify, do you mean that the email activities were not generated at all? Or the activities were generated but just not sent? I can see that email activities are being generated in your backend. Let us know thanks.

Hi, yes i did not receive any email activities. Does the easydiscuss extension use the joomla email system as I know that this works fine as the user registration emailed through ok. I have also checked our spam software as emails tend to get stuck here, but nothing in there.

Hey James,
You mentioned that you did not receive mail notifications in your email correct? If that is so, it is because EasyDiscuss did not send out those mails yet if you check the email activities page of ED(they are pending).
Did you set up any cron job task for EasyDiscuss? If no, then you would need to set it up so that EasyDiscuss can send out emails.
If you do have cron job set up for EasyDiscuss, perhaps you can provide me your cron job access so I can check the configuration and test the email myself? Let us know, thanks.

Hi Raymond, i haven't setup any cron jobs, I kind of assumed that it would send automatically. Where and how do I setup the cron jobs?

Hey James,
Normally you can set up cron job tasks from your web hosting server's account. By the way, which web hosting provider are you using currently?
