Notifications for thread updates in groups?

Is is possible to setup to receive notifications when there is a new thread or comment on a group timeline. I have noticed that I am notified if someone likes or comments on a thread that I have created on a group timeline. But if someone starts a thread or makes an an initial comment on a group timeline, the subscribers to that group are not notified. Can that be changed?

Correct me if I'm wrong here, do you mean, you want the member in the groups got notification as there is a status updated by other member?If yes,
You can enable the alert in the backend setting:
