Hi,

When adding a new post (blog) to my site, I remarked the notifications to subscribed users are not sent.

I cannot figure out what is wrong. In my opinion all the settings are ok!? (see bitmaps)
I also tried a resent, see birmap with arrow, but is doesn't work.

What can be wrong?

Thank you for your answer, Kind regards, T.W.van Urk
Hi T.W.van Urk,

You should disable the custom notifications set in the composer(http://take.ms/xe52o) as this enforces notifications to be sent to users under the selected user groups only.

Since the subscribers are not registered members on the site, they are not a part of any of those usergroups and therefore does not receive notifications.

As remarked in the custom notification description, if at least one usergroup is selected, the notification settings will be ignored and this includes the subscription ones as well.

I have helped you disable the custom notificaitons(http://take.ms/bWDfK) and resend the notification. The subscribers should now receive the notification(http://take.ms/CLjiP).

Hi,

Thank you for your explanation and help. It works!

Maybe I can ask two additional questions for modifcation of the custom mail :

I have been looking at the mail templates and I wonder where can I change the string "COM_EASYBLOG_MAIL_TEMPLATE_NEW_POST_SUBHEADING" to the Dutch equivalent?

and is it possible to add the Cover Photo of a post to the notification mail?

Thank you for your great support

Hey,

You could actually find this string in the language file which is located in /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easyblog.ini

[gist]
COM_EASYBLOG_MAIL_TEMPLATE_NEW_POST_SUBHEADING="There is a new blog post published on the site"
[/gist]

If you are using Dutch, I believe it is /language/nl-NL/nl-NL.com_easyblog.ini . By the way, are you planning to head over to https://www.joomladagen.nl/ ? Would love to be able to meet the Dutch community!

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your answer.

I had already looked in the Dutch INI file. However, this string wasn't there.
But now I noticed it is present in the English INI file!
So I copied the string from the English file and added the Dutch Translations to the Dutch Ini file,

Now it is working ok, However, I wonder if the $blogDate is now also shown in Dutch?

Kind regards, T.W. an Urk

Thanks for getting back to us that worked now.

However, I wonder if the $blogDate is now also shown in Dutch?

I believe it will show Dutch date in email is because we also render this following Joomla date format language constant for the blog date.

DATE_FORMAT_LC="l, d F Y"

This language constant is located at this language file.

/language/en-GB/en-GB.ini
/language/nl-NL/nl-NL.ini
