I haven't set up any cronjob...

can't it be done without setting up the cronjob..

May i know did you check the email activity page when you publishing a blog post or discussion post, is it got showing pending email there?

Yes, if you didn't set the cronjob the email notification also will set it manually when you page load, both component also have this option from the setting,

The settings you provided helped me a lot..

For easydiscuss it is working fine.

But not for easyblog.
