I am trying to figure out where and how to reduce the introtext truncation at the following page: https://www.drcarney.com/gems

I am using the Grid Layout in the new EasyBlog 5.1. I had thought I could modify the truncation in the following settings but my attempts to change the truncation there did not work:

Components -> EasyBlog -> Layout -> Truncation

I tried to change the number for built in editor and also for Joomla editor but it did not seem to change anything. I have cache turned off and also the CDN is turned off.

Can you point me to the right place?

Thank you!

Sean
Thanks for the input on this Sean, will log this into our issue tracker and see if we could add this settings in 5.1.8

Hi Sean,

Unfortunately, there is no setting to alter the character truncation in the grid layout currently. However, you can customize it in the file:
.../administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/truncater/truncater.php

My recommendations for the future would be to have the Grid layout by default follow the truncation settings in EasyBlog but also to provide a field whereby a person could CHANGE the truncation values in the layout.

I changes the value in the file you pointed me and it was a BIG improvement to the layouts, although I assume that my change will be over written in the future when updating the software?
