I upgraded to 4.04 and for some reason when a user trys to sign up for a new account and "Register and Checkout" is clicked, the user is not redirected to PayPal. Rather, they are taken to a redirect page that they should not have access too and are automatically logged in which should also not happen. If you click the text "back" at the bottom of the page, and then complete the transaction, the paypal redirect works.

Please help? I was ready to go live with the site but now can't until this is resolved.

Kind Regards,

Seth
Hey Seth,

I've checked your site and found that this issue is coming because of Redirect On Login plugin, as you are using payplans inbuilt registration with Automatic Approve and activate functionality , so user will be logged into site once register.
That's why it's not redirecting to paypal site.
see attached screenshot.

For now , i've disabled this plugin and now user is redirecting to paypal site properly. Please take a look on this issue again and let me know if still issue persist.

Thank you for understanding !

Hi Manisha,

Yes, the user is now redirected to the PayPal page, but this creates a new issue. Once the user has registered and paid via payplans, they are placed in to a Joomla Group "Seller - First Time" and are forced to a specific page by that plugin. This is a page that contains a form that we require all new registrants to complete prior to accessing the rest of the site. Once they have completed the form, they are then moved to a new group "Seller" that allows them access to the secured portions of the site.

Since this all worked in the previous versions (up to 4.01 anyway) is there any other solution other than not using that specific plugin?
The user needs to be created and activated in the group "Seller - First Time" without any admin interaction or email links.

Thank you VERY much for your help.

Hey Seth,

Can you confirm me that on version 4.0.1, user were able to logged in automatically once they register using payplans ?
Also is there any configuration you changed when upgrade to latest version.

Yes. I can confirm it worked in version 4.01. What I don’t remember is if I updated to 4.02, and then 4.03, and then 4.04.

In any event, I had a backup of the site on a different server that I tested in 4.01 and all worked as planned:

User registered.
User was redirected to PayPal
User was not logged in, but the account was created and activated.
User was placed in the seller - first time group
User manually logged in to the site upon return from PayPal.
User was redirected to the first time visit page as expected.

I upgraded from 4.01 to 4.04 and the user was no longer redirected to PayPal, rather the account was created and user was logged in automatically. No other edits or changes were made with this test.

If it helps, users do not need to be automatically logged in, unless this is a function of the quick reg. I’d rather not have the user be required to view and confirm an invoice.

Hey Seth,

Ok, thank you for sharing detailed information.

If Automatic Approve and activate set in payplans inbuilt registration , then user account will be activate immediately and user will be logged in automatically. There was some issue regarding to auto login , we fixed in latest version that's user will be logged in automatically.

I'll log this into our issue tracker feature request section to separate auto login functionality.
Can you send me your site ftp details , so i'll help to stop auto login from payplans registration.

Update me.

Hey Seth,

I've tried to connect with your site ftp but it's not working.
For now to resolve this issue, find attached file and replace on below mentioned file path.
root/administrator/components/com_payplans/models/user.php

Update me if still any issue persist.

Thank you for understanding !

Hi Manisha,

So sorry about the FTP credentials. They worked when I tested them, so maybe I mistyped something.

At any rate, the file is uploaded and things are working again. Is this something that should be addressed in the next update? Or should I keep this file handy in the event I need to replace it again after an update?

Thank you for your help! Great service and responsiveness! I know you can;t do it all the time, but it;s very reassuring to know that if I ask a question or reply to an existing question, that I can count on an answer in a reasonable amount of time! I'm a fan!
