Before you close this post, I wanted to tell you that if a user edit his cover photo from the editing page.
There is no stream item that specifies this update of cover photo.
We only have "X updated his profile".

Then, if a comment or a reaction is given on this new cover photo, there is no stream items.
Because the original did not exist...

However, if the user modifies his avatar picture from this profile edition, there is a stream item generated. "X updated their profile picture".

That is correct behaviour, if the user update (anything included avatar or cover) from the edit profile page, it will only generate this stream status (http://take.ms/kwo2c).

If the user modify their avatar and cover from the profile page, it will only generate the stream item on the site.

But when the user modifies his avatar picture from the edit profile page, a stream item is well generated :
"X updated his profile picture".
This stream item can be commented and reacted, and this is visible for everybody.

But if it's the cover picture which is modified, we have only :
"X updated his profile"
So, because there is not a stream item for notify this cover changement, when a new comment or reaction is made, this is not seen publicly.

In all logical, a cover update from the edit profile page must be generated this stream item :
"X updated his cover photo"
Like for avatar picture...

To be honest, I don't think it makes much sense displaying duplicated stream items when you update your profile, profile picture as well as cover. Anyway, please do post them on the feature requests area and we'll see if there are others who are also interested in such activity generation.

Sorry to insist, but this is not a feature request.
But a malfunction.

To understand, here is the scenario:

1 ° A new user registers on the site (Philippe), filled all the fields, and he sends an avatar image and a cover image directly.
2 ° At its first connection, the only stream item that this user will have will be : "Philippe just registered on the site"
3 ° Another user (Mark) comments and reacts to avatar image and cover image of Philippe
4 ° Philippe is notified with EasySocial notifications and emails
5 ° But in the stream of Philippe, there is no stream item about comments and reactions of Mark

The problem is the same when the user adds a cover image or avatar from the edit profile page.

Thanks Philippe for explaining in such scenario so we understand about the issue
I've discuss and consult with our developer, this by default do not generate the avatar and cover photo stream.
However, they conclude that this can be done once user update their profile & new user register (with update their avatar and/or cover photo).
I've logged this into our issue tracker and our developer will take an action for this

Hello,

I would like to add that this problematic is also present for Covers and Avatars of Clusters (Pages, Groups, Events).

If the Photo Cover and Avatar has been added at the same time as the creation of Page, Group or Event, there is no Stream Item about this.
So thereafter, reactions or comments are not reported in the Stream.
