Hi - After using the free version of Komento for quite some time, I decided to buy a registration for this fine piece of software for my Joomla website (Joomla v 3.9.5).
After installing, I activated Moderation for Public users and Guests. However, I do not receive any emails to notify me of new comments being posted. I have tried some test comments, and I (being the administrator) don't get any email notification.
In the free version of Komento I did get notification mails (although they landed sometimes in my spam-box).
Hope you can help me out. If I must, I can grant you access to my site; please let me know if this is necessary.
Thank you very much.
Hey KlaartjeKoe,

I have checked your site, everything is okay apart from the notification recipient settings. Check only administrator and super users or else everyone will receive the emails.

By the way, you can check in your site Backend > Komento > E-mails > Activities where you are actually getting the notifications when public/guest users comments. I believe you are not getting the notifications to your email because you have not set cronjobs on your server yet.

This is the command you have to setup in your Cronjob :
[gist type="php"]
/usr/bin/wget -O /dev/null "https://www.martinrep.nl/index.php?option=com_komento&task=cron";
[/gist]
Also, set the interval to 5 minutes.

If you need further assistance or you unable to manage to make it work, you can provide us with cpanel access.

Hey there,

In order to get notified when guest/public user entered a comment, after activating the moderation you also need to do some settings as follows:
1. Go to your site Backend > Komento > Settings > Notifications
2. In the Notification Recipients tab look for 'New pending' and select the user group that you want to get notified.

If I recall correctly, it doesn't have this feature from the older version of Komento, so it might be because of this, you have to configure this from the notification section.

By the way, if you need further assistance or you unable to manage to make it work, you can provide us with your site backend and FTP access at https://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so we can better have a check.

Hi Suganthi,
Thanks for your help.
I checked all the user groups, but to no avail…
I filled in log in data at the page you indicated above so you might want to take a look to see what goes wrong.
Greetings -
