I've checked in your site, it seems like the avatar size 180 x 180px is not accepted by Facebook. (At least maximum 200px above for the image)

So I will change this behaviour to use event cover instead and I've applied some fix in this file JoomlaFolder\components\com_easysocial\views\events\view.html.php

Then I also disable your site "Gzip page compression" setting from backend global configuration page is because this is known issue in Joomla, if you enable this option, Facebook unable to retrieve the image data from your site.

You can try to share this event into your Facebook https://www.gemuese-buerger.de/events/events/eintrag/7-gesport-seitentriebe , it should display correctly for the image.

By the way, seems Facebook already cached all of your site event page, you have to manually copy your site event page URL into Facebook debugger tool page then re-crawl all the correct content again.

I also disabled with your Joomla cache system and this plugin system - page cache.

Before you activate these cache system from your site, you have to done what I mentioned above info.

I've checked in your site, It seems like these "Nutrition class events." cover is not showing is because that is under recurring state.

In other word, the cover only will appear on the main event for example : https://www.gemuese-buerger.de/events/events?date=2016&filter=date

I am sorry for the delay of this reply, do you mean you would like to get rid of this event recurring or show the cover image from the recurring event?

If you would like to show recurring event cover image from the listing, unfortunately that was not possible to display in current system yet, but I will add this issue into our tracker and see if we can fix this in next release version.

I'm having a similar issue (and error in sharing debugger) with my websites main icon (logo). Any guidance on how to point FB to another image instead of my Logo when posting to FB?

Yes, because now we pass event avatar to Facebook to crawl the image data from the event page.

Then I noticed our event avatar size is too small and Facebook debugger tool result mentioned that that avatar size must over 200px.

So I have updated to pass event cover to Facebook instead of event avatar.

Can you try download my fix file and replace into following file location and see how it goes?

After you replace it, you have to copy your event page URL to facebook debugger tool page to clear the cache data, so that Facebook can re-crawl again your correct data from the event page.

If the issue still persists, can you start a new thread regarding this?
