Hi,

I never receive emails from stack ideas forums. can you have a look into this please.

Thanks

shoulders
Okay, Sendgrid just responded and it seems like the reason that you are not getting any emails is because,

1. When our system sent out an e-mail on Nov 29th 2016, your mail server was flagged as spam.

2. When that happened, Sendgrid automatically places your e-mail address into a bounce list.

3. From then on, any emails sent to your mail was dropped automatically.

I have removed your e-mail address from our bounce list and you should be able to receive emails now

Hm currently I am not really sure why only you can't able to receive the notification when someone reply on your thread.

By the way, thanks for help to test Bastian W.

did not get any email. I have also disabled my spam filter for now

if you aren´t the administrator from the email environment you normally couldn´t disable the spam filter as that would affect every user on that server. You mainly can only disable any application which affects you (but if the server system detected the email as 100% spam then this wouldn´t help you). But you might open a case with your email service provider, they can check the mail server logfiles based on the details mentioned here and can say if they blocked it or not. As the service from sendgrid.net (which is used by Stackideas.com) supports dkim they might use that to fine tune there anti spam environment.

By the way some other issues (which caused that my users sometimes do not get such kind of emails):

- change the email address to some other email provider and check if you get emails here, if you do then change it back and check it again
- make sure you do not have any mail rules in place
- make sure you didn´t blocked the domain/sender in Outlook or your email client you are using
- make sure you do not have any older mail forwards in place
- make sure you do not have an older POP3 collector task running somewhere

P.s.
@Arlex Wong you are welcome ;-)

I have changed the email on the account to see if i get some emails. I have used a Gmail account.

I have disable all of my anti-spam the other day and I asked my server provider to search the mail logs for me and they found not email from support@stackideas.com at all (they check the last 30 days)

lets see what happens now

you are welcome. Maybe you can change it back to the original email and check if its still not working. If its not working you can then go back to the email service provider and give them the email notification you just got and say that its working fine with another email address as seen (you can attach the email then) so they need to have a 2nd maybe deeper loop based on the content. If they have the header they might be able to find it. For example it could be that there are to many hoops and that the email is then rejected on there side due to that. But that's something they need to find out.

Hi mark,

Yes I am receiving site wide emails. I have not had any in the last couple of hours or so that I have noticed, so if you have changed something I do not have enough data to fully verify it has worked.

I do not get a flood of emails of every post, nor can i give you a pattern of the emails.

Hello shoulders,

Hm, this is odd but I am suspecting that this could be a bug in our forums brought over since EasyDiscuss version 1. Anyway I have removed some of the site subscriptions from the site. Keep me posted if you receive any more notifications.

Hi Mark,

this is an email from my supplier

The timestamp in that email indicated this failed transaction occurred on 3/7/2017. As I mentioned in my previous reply, there were no entries in the mail log containing "stackideas.com" from 3/5/2017 until ~8:00 AM GMT today. The screenshot also lists an IP address of '45.33.29.21'. There are no entries in the mail log that contain that IP address from 3/5/2017 until now. The SMTP-ID and MSGID in the screenshot are not tied in anyway to IDs that our server uses for mail.

Even if mail is rejected, an entry should be created in the mail logs whenever any email reaches the server. There is not an entry in the mail log for the transaction in your screenshot which implies that the email never reached our server. We asked for a bounce back because the attached screenshot doesn't provide enough relevant information for us to determine why that particular email wasn't delivered to your account.

Currently, all available evidence points to the issue being on stackideas.com's side of things. Without something that gives more information, such as a bounce back, there isn't much else for us to look into. Is there anyway you will be able to provide us with one?

Basically, there is more to the bounce message and this will help identify the issue.

thanks

Jon
