I see that the backend EA does not allow backend editing, not even listing?

Thanks,

Jackson
Hey Jackson,

Nope not at all because it would defeat the purpose of it entirely If you want to do it from the back end, wouldn't then you use the article manager? It's primarily on the front end to allow easy authoring but I guess, you could just create a menu alias called "ea" and whenever you need to manage your posts, simply hit site.com/ea

I guess it makes sense

I'm just thinking UX, if an admin go directly to EasyArticle component in the backend since he/she loves to use EA he/she founds out that he cannot access/edit the article from there... urrggg, he/she go to Content and edit an article and he sees the default editor. I posted a feature request about this.

Well, I tested the Dashboard list of articles and it is clickable and the link will take the user to the frontend EA editing, that is cool! I know you are all for less code, easy to maintain. I am too since the code to the article link has already been made, I think creating an article lists layout will not bloat EA too much but makes it better... UX speaking, think about it. It's just my suggestion

Thanks,

Jackson

Thanks for the input on this Jackson. One of the key reason why we chose not to have the listing at the back end is simply because of Joomla. We cannot re-use the same output on the dashboard on Joomla because:

1. The architecture to work at the back end is entirely different and cannot be adapted on the front end. This leads to redundant codes everywhere.

2. Because of the above, whenever we make a change, we also need to remember to update it for the admin area which leads to the possibility of having more bugs

Fair enough, one of the Joomla! design fault. I guess you are talking about the Posts layout of lists in the frontend.
