Hi,

I am on version 5.0.13.

I cannot see the Add Block button on the composer screen - the first button I have is Add Media. I am using JCE editor. I have gone through the settings and there doesn't appear anything obvious to switch it on.

Also, is there a reason when we publish an article, for having to close the window twice? First I am presented with the green Close button then I have to click the top right red quit button. Is this deliberate?

Mel
Hello Mel,

You are not seeing the add block button is because you are not using the composer editor. You are using JCE Editor instead. As for closing the popup, the green close button is actually only to close the message "The post had been published successfully".

Hi Nik,

I see. I have just changed my JCE editor default to exclude EasyBlog, and gone into EB settings-composer and selected EB default, then cleared cache, gone back to composer and its still not there. Is there another missing step?

Thanks for explanation, for latter.

Can I ask an unrelated question regarding these support forums? I posted an urgent message yesterday that is affecting me being able to put my site back online. I updated the message twice with my own answers as discovered more details I thought would help support troubleshoot. By answering my own question does it move it out of the new issues so you dont get to see it?

This is the thread link, its just I cannot put site live as a result: http://stackideas.com/forums/cannot-access-blogs-at-all-error-400-unable-to-set-as-revision-as-current-revision-on-post

Apologies for moving off track

Hello Mel,

For the add block button, can you provide your backend and FTP so we can check on this? About the other post, maybe we have missed your post. We will keep track on it. Thanks for the reminder.

Hi Nik,

apologies for the delay.

I saw the add block button (reverted to EB editor). I want to stick to JCE editor as like the extra styling tools like insert table, audio files etc. Maybe EB can do this but I need time to play around with it. I will take a look more properly in a couple of days.

Thanks for your help.

Mel

p.s. how do I attract support attention to that post I mentioned?

Hello Mel,

EasyBlog 5's built in composer already supports tables, audio, files and many more Just click on the "Add Block" and see the list of available blocks there. It's a huge list

Hi Mark,
I have just enabled it again. But I cant see that Add Block again. I have cleared the cache etc. but its still not there.
I didn't realise there was a text block - I thought it was just to insert media files, but I like to be able to format text etc. I cant test that yet, but guessing it will be in the Add Block bit?

Where do I switch this button on?

Hi Mel,

I am sorry for the late reply.

If I understand you correctly, you have already changed the editor back to EasyBlog Composer, but the Add Block button still do not displayed and also you have cleared your site and browser cache. If this true and the issue is still persist, can you kindly please provide us with backend access and FTP access as well so that we can assist you much better. Please put the information in the site details form below.

Please advise.

Hello Mel,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

It seems like I'm hitting timeout issue when I'm try to connect to your site page. Please advise.

Regarding on the issue, have you set the author to use easyblog default editor from your backend > easyblog > authors > select author > details > editor, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-30_1727.png ? If yes perhaps you can send us the screenshot of your composer view so we can see it directly. By right the "Add block" button should be on top left of composer page, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-30_1728.png

For what it's worth I have this exact same problem.

I was using JCE. I turned on TinyMCE globally, I now see TinyMCE when editing blogs. I still don't see the Blocks button (and never have), and there is no option in your provided screenshot to select the 'Easyblog default editor' for the blog author, nor in my site.

This was an upgrade using your lite installer, if that's relevant.

May be related to this:

Old posts (pre-update) won't show the new editor features, apparently!

Hi Ezrul,
that fixed it I was still pointing my own acces to the JCE. One last question, I cannot see a button for audio/podscasts. Does this mean we cannot install them? Also, when inserting media and other files, can we set a default root folder to display (so we see the files we have uploaded)?

Ruth, one other thing I had to do is go to JCE editor component, click on default profile, and in there is a section that says Select components, where you can select all or none. Set this to select all.

Kind regards

Mel
