I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Unfortunately that is only one mandatory field for Joomla User Fullname from the workflow, if you would like to allow user to enter their second nickname, you can add another custom field like textbox.

But if you create a textbox field allow user to enter their nickname, this one only can be searchable from advanced search for this particular field.
