Hey guys,

What's the best way to create a RSS feed that goes directly onto a timeline on easysocial ? I need to create a way where I can feed content onto peoples walls that will entice them to continue to keep logging on and checking out the wall for articles, whats the best way to do this?

Cheers

John
Hi John,

When you create new feeds, a new stream item should be created as well.

But since you have disabled the 'Everyone' filter(http://take.ms/7KtF5), other users will not be able to see your stream item unless they are your friends.

So the only way others can see your stream item currently is to enable the 'everyone' filter since not every user is added as your friend.

Hi Raymond,

Yes but I don't want everyone to see my " stream " I want them to be able to see feeds from pages that are created. this would be possible providing they've liked the particular page right? but is it possible to create an external feed into the easysocial page I create? and then thus have it feed into a users timeline?

Yes if they like the page or join the group, feeds from these places will be visible on their timeline.

Any feed or stream items that are generated in pages or groups will not appear in other user's timeline unless they like or join the group.

The only way I can think of currently is having users like pages/join groups automatically when they register(configured in profile type, http://take.ms/JOCu3).

Hey Raymond,

Yeah I understand that but is there a way to have an external source feed into a page I've created, so it updates automatically ??

Hey John,

Ah unfortunately we don't have such auto feeding of feeds currently But it's a good idea though.

Hi Mark,

Is it something that could be done? or in the very least, looked into for the future?

Hey John,

It would be a good idea we could extend the functionality of the rss feed app in EasySocial to do that Perhaps you should post a feature request for this under https://stackideas.com/forums/easysocial/feature-requests-2
