News Feed for New Profile

Hi

When a New User logs in for the first time he currently sees nothing in the stream. Is it possible to show Public Posts in the field? It would be nice to do that since a new user coming in would already have items in the stream to look at.....

Hello Avinash,

You can actually set the default filter on the dashboard to be "Everyone" so that everyone's stream will be displayed Take a look at my screen shot here, http://screencast.com/t/lgo50sIUaVgA

if there a way for users to change their default feed? Like set as between friends or everyone as their individual choice?

Go to Settings > Users > Workflow and under the "Dashboard" section you'll see this settings

I can use that for all users, but is there a way for users to choose their own default feed filter such as everyone and friends from their own settings? All are they stuck with the site default?

No unfortunately we do not have such user preferences.
