New Users - Registration Final Step - Fails (Error 1062)

When new user signs up on site, on the last stage they get an error saying the following:
1062

DUPLICATE ENTRY '18685' FOR KEY 'PRIMARY' SQL=INSERT INTO `#__SOCIAL_USERS` (`USER_ID`,`STATE`) VALUES ('18685','1')


PS - Setting error reporting to max had no effect.
Also, activation emails are not being dispatched.
One other note, recently purchased and enabled the "First Automatic Friends" plugin.

Hello ,

This issue is most likely caused by the auto friend app as I have troubleshoot another site with the same issue (if I recall correctly)

Can you try turning that off and see if the problems still persists?
