New SEF URLs become longer and ugly :(

Hello. Before updating to ES 3.1 my site links looked like:
video: https://crimson-land.ru/videos/26087-dvoe-detej-zadokhnulis-v-kholodilnike
- it shorty and clear All this link allready indexed by Google, Yandex.com (russian search system) etc and promoted at other sites.

But now it's more longer
https://crimson-land.ru/videos/27616-wampirina/videos/26087-dvoe-detej-zadokhnulis-v-kholodilnike
People don't care about "27616-wampirina". Why to display it?

User's realname (that can be changed by user himself and link will be changed too). If I remove in backend ID and user will change his realname, links will be totally changed too

Also new link has ugly double "videos" Why to create menu item "videos" if it doesn't make link shortier?

Also old link doesn't redirect to new link. So now site has 2 the same(dublicate) pages. May be Google smart to recognize it and keep only one, but I'm not sure about others. It's not good for site that allready has promoted content with cool short links.

How to work with "SEF URLs" section in backend? It has tons of links. I need to edit it one by one to make looks shortier? It's insane. I expected it shoud allow to set some "SEF URL mask".
For exampleL change: videos/12857-zlyden/videos/25375-potroshit-svoyu-zhenu to videos/25375-potroshit-svoyu-zhenu and all links (for user's video) will lokks like that.

For example JomSocial used similar long links and my site's videos (with JomSocial) were "at the end of the list" (other sites with shorts links was more success). After migrating to ES with short links, it become more comfortable for users and (seems) for some search systems and the situation has changed to good.

Now... It ruined everything. Seems like I have to prepare for a drop in attendance and cash low monetizing.

VK.com, Facebook, Youtube, LiveLeak and tons of popular social networks and video services use more shorty URL.

For the user, loooong link looks like a big step back.

How can I move back to shorty URL? Please help

First of all, thank you for your feedbacks on the new url formats in EasySocial 3.1

The reason we've changed the SEF links to include /user-alias/object-type for videos / albums / photos was because there are many of our customers prefer that SEF format where the video sef url would have the 'relation' to where the videos belong to. E.g.

/menu-alias/user-alias/videos/video-alias

The above applied to clusters as well, e.g.

/menu-alias/cluster-alias/videos/video-alias

Anyway, we will be adding a setting in EasySocial 3.1 so that admin can decide if the sef links should contain these 'relation' segments or not.

Thanks for the feedback. We will see if we can remove the 'vidoes' ( object-type) from the sef if the current active menu item are belong to videos or not.

Ideally the SEF URLs page at EasySocial backend are used when you need to customise few of the sef links. If you need to edit most of the sef links, then I would suggest you to customise the router files. I would advise you to wait for the new setting so that you can turn off the extra segments from the links.

For the temporary fix, can you download the attached videos.php and copy this file to folder 'JOOMLA/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/router/adapters/' and overwrite the existing 'videos.php' file.
Remember to backup the original file before you overwrite with this customised version.

Once you done that, head to EasySocial backend at SEF URLs page and click on 'Purge All' button to clear all your old links.

Your video links should be back to 3.0 style.

Sure, attached the temporary fix to remove the user-alias/object-type from your albums sef links. Please download the albums.php file to folder JOOMLA/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/router/adapters/' and overwrite the existing 'albums.php' file. Remember to backup the original file 1st before you applied with the customised version.

Once you done that, head to EasySocial backend at SEF URLs page and click on 'Purge All' button to clear all your albums links so that system will regenerate with the albums links follow ES 3.0 style.
