Dear Team,
I have one question about the user permission level for Default Joomla User Groups.

In my site I want to have two groups whom can process different level in my site.

One group is really register group but I do not know about another new group what I should do because I just want new group can process like register can play everything like other EasySocial user.

What is different is new group can process these. Seekkhmer.com/my-money and seekkhmer.com/user-report.

The new group just can open those link without edit, delete or do something. They just view.

And register can't process above those link.

I hope you can advices about new group.

Thank you.
Hi there,

You can control them by going to each that specific category, and check each of those you wanted to restricted under ACL as you can see here http://take.ms/XntKz

Please give it a try and see how it goes

I do not try it yet because I am using phone.

But What I want is Default joomla user group because joomla has like register, public, author, administrator, supper administrator, publisher and other.

Now the default is register group after you complete register your group is register and your EasySocial is full support with register group.

After that another new user sign up on my, their group is really register group but I want to assign them in different group whom can access these page
http://seekkhmer.com/my-money and
http://seekkhmer.com/user-report. By the way this new can full support like register group to access EasySocial also.

What is register group on joomla and access on EasySocial and the new group on joomla can access them also.

What is new group, it is administrator or author and which one is in joomla group for user?

Thank you.

Hi there,

Honestly, i am a bit lost about your requirement above. From what i understand here, you are required for those registered user, to be on each group respectively based on which user group they are registered. If what i understand is based on your requirement, you can assigned them respectively on each profile types created on EasySocial' profile type sections as shown http://take.ms/cix7Jg

Please advice.

Hello Saovry,

The permissions in Joomla user groups is different than EasySocial as EasySocial has it's own ACL. The main reason is because the ACL in Joomla is not robust enough for the day to day operations of EasySocial.

ACL in EasySocial is associated with profile types. You may configure the profile types acl accordingly. This is why a user can only belong to 1 profile type at any given point of time.

Hi there,

You can manage them as you can see here http://take.ms/stKlO. You have to create a profile types and tick options here http://take.ms/stKlO. It should works as you required above. Any Joomla user assigned to that group, will be automatically on that particular profile types you have set above.

Please give it a try and see how it goes

Hello Saovry,

Do you intend to assign users that register under that profile type to be under both Registered Users and Author?

Dear team,
it is very long to make Clearly with my question and I know my English make use confuse many times..
I don't want users that register under all profile type to be Registered and Author...
One user should be only Registered for all my profile types when they register after they buy the premium account so I can upgrade their account to Author whom will access some menus that hide for Registered...
could you look at my video
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5cx2j5192qingch/screencast%202017-07-15%2023-06-44.mp4?dl=0

so why I ask you about there are some different between Register and Author when they login and play with EasySocial... because I want Author user can play what Registered User can play with EasySocial...

Thank

If that is the case, then what you need to do is to create 2 different profile types

1. Registered Users profile type
- This profile type is assigned to registered users group

2. Author profile type
- This profile type is assigned to the Author group
- In this profile type, configure the profile type so that it cannot be registered by user http://take.ms/nHz8E

When a normal user registers on the site, they will be under the "Registered Users" profile type. When you need to assign someone with the author privilege, then assign the user to the "Author" profile type from the user's listing.

I have 5 different profile types if I follow your guideline, it will be 10 profiles include yours...
Maybe I can manual config to any users to be with user group like registered or Author for all my 5 profile types...
If there are no different between user group register and author to play on EasySocial....
Thank you...

If you already need to manually do it, I would suggest that you edit the user and assign them the respective user group that you want.
