How can we stop new blog posts from posting the actual/current day and time in the "Publish Date" when the blog is actually published? We like to choose a specific day and time to display as the Publish Date.
Hi Michael,

I'm not sure if I understand the issue. Are you saying that whenever you select a specific publish date and save the post, the publish date inside the composer still show the current date? Or are you referring to the date display on some other page?

"Are you saying that whenever you select a specific publish date and save the post, the publish date inside the composer still show the current date?"

Yes, and it actually reverts to display the current day and time that I saved or updated the blog post. This forces me to update the publish date again to the day and time that I want it to be.

Is this a feature within the new EB update? Clearly, your programming changed with the latest update because this has never happened before. How do I keep this from happening? It is a real pain to keep having to publish the day and time, then republish the same to make it stick.

Hey Michael,

I have investigated this and there was indeed a recent change that causes the current date to be selected when being published. This only happens to drafts. If a new post is published right away without saving it as a draft first, an older published date can be saved.

I will log this in our tracker so the developers can address it.

What about re-published blog posts? How can I avoid having to reenter the Published date each time I re-publish?

Hey Michael,

How do I reproduce the issue for re-published blog posts? I tried unpublishing a blog post(old publish date), then publishing it. The publish date stays the same.

Hey Michael,

I still could not reproduce the issue. Can you show us how the post was created from the beginning and continue from there? Maybe try creating a new sample post->publish->unpublish->change date->publish, in a video.

The only way around this issue is to change the publishing date as soon as I modify the blog name.

You should look into reviewing your code and resolving this matter on your next release.
