It only displays properly when I have "auto-fit messages" setting enabled. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Android 6.0.1. Gmail V 6.11.6. The blog posts are clearly not responding to the device screen resolution. Please advise.

Also, the Blog Category images are not displaying responsively on my mobile device. (see attached) Can you address that as well? If I can, please instruct me how. THX

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

It only displays properly when I have "auto-fit messages" setting enabled. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Android 6.0.1. Gmail V 6.11.6. The blog posts are clearly not responding to the device screen resolution. Please advise.

I've checked with our designer, actually that was known issue and currently we still looking for the proper solution to fix this email responsive issue for all different mail client app, because all those different mail client app have their own <table> html styling standard. I will discuss this with our designer again and see whether we can make it temporary work in gmail app first on coming Tuesday.

Also, the Blog Category images are not displaying responsively on my mobile device. (see attached) Can you address that as well? If I can, please instruct me how. THX

it seems like it display fine from my android phone, you can refer on my attached screenshot below.
Can you clear your mobile browser cache and see how it goes?
If the issue still persists, may i know which mobile browser you use?

Hey Michael,

I already consult with our designer regarding this, currently we do not have any quick fix for this yet.

But I did test again with my android phone today, it seems it show correctly for the responsive even I disable this 'auto-fit messages' setting from the gmail app, you can check my first and second attached screenshot below.

Unless when I click on "revert resize-ing" option from the single email page, it will only show non-responsive view, you can check my 3rd and fourth screenshot below.

Arlex,

I have tested on my end and messages are still not responsive as they should be. Has there been other reports of this occurring with other clients?

We want to start publishing blogs again on our website on January 1st, but we don't want mobile users to receive unresponsive messages. Might this matter be resolved by your team by then?

Michael

Hey Michael,

Yes, our client got reported this issue before and our designer still looking for better solution of this, since this issue related with the gmail app + inside the layout. it actually quite difficult for us to provide a quick fix for this.

By the way, based on what i tested several different Android/Iphone phone model,
- Android 5,6,7 version
- Gmail 6.x.x and latest version

It seems like all the gmail app about this setting 'auto-fit message' by default is enabled, even I disabled this setting from the gmail app setting, it still show responsive.

Which template determines how blogs will display on any device? Template.php, Post.php, or another?

Are you referring email template?

If yes, we do not have the specific email template file for different device, the following files is handle both layout e.g. desktop and mobile device.

JoomlaFolder/components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/emails/html/template.php (this file is show to header and footer)
JoomlaFolder/components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/emails/html/post.new.php (this file is one of the email content file for display those new blog post)

Based on what i research on Google, this gmail app responsive issue is not only our product having this issue, some other also still looking for the better solution on this, then end up Gmail app come out the new feature 'Auto-fit message' setting is set it enabled by default in latest version.
