Sure, its simple,
For example:

I have a single select field with those options

Dogs
Cats
Other animals

When someone selects Dogs, another field appears with has ONLY options for dogs

Dogs
-> Golden Retriever
-> Labrador
-> Husky

So those dog breeds are nested to the first field's option "Dogs".

If he selects Cats, he gets a new field with cat breeds
