Have trouble figure out events and could not find in docs.

We have a number of Christmas festivals that run from one date to another. Ongoing
But they do not appear on the events Calendar module or upcoming events module. #1, #2 of screenshot.
The Calendar on the events page is the functionality we are looking, for #3 (to use on Joomla pages)

tried setting recurring daily on the event setup, but just get an error...
Tried for about an hour, but could not get it going. please advise.

#4 Cant delete these past events. And would like to display events horizontally in this format in a module on homepage of site. ehCanadaTravel.com

Possible?
Hey Colin,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Please find my response below:

Hm, may I know which of these events are you referring to? Perhaps if you could provide us with the title of the event, and we'll take a look at the event.

We do have a calendar module for EasySocial and you could actually publish the module on Joomla pages.

Do you mean you want to delete the event "Rockabye Babysitters"? What errors are you getting when you are trying to delete the event?

As for the horizontal layout, I tried viewing the home page on the site but don't quite get what you mean by displaying events horizontally. Can you please elaborate further on this please?

Simcoe Christmas Panorama River of Lights
Kingsville Fantasy of Lights

Can view them on events page if sorted by newest.

When creating new event of ...say a 2 week duration. What is the difference between selecting beginning and end date. setting it all day and repeat daily? (new event.png)

We do have a calendar module for EasySocial and you could actually publish the module on Joomla pages.

Yes but it does not show the ongoing events, as per screenshot (e-calendar-module.png)

Not sure on the event delete, works now.
The event page was showing old events, but I think it was just date issues. Deleted them and we're good.

Homepage module event layout attached.

Just a shot in the dark, but as most of these events are yearly. If i select them to recur yearly, does it have a way to notify event owners when the event is coming up next year, so they can update accordingly?

Hi Colin,
they do not appear on the events Calendar module or upcoming events module.
For the calendar module, looks like there is a bug here when the event starts on previous month and ends on the month after the current month. Will log this issue in our tracker.

For the events module, it will only display events based on the start date. If the current events start date is before today, it will look at your '# of days of past event' setting(http://take.ms/pj1YF).
When creating new event of ...say a 2 week duration. What is the difference between selecting beginning and end date. setting it all day and repeat daily?
For the recurring option, you would be able to choose which day of each week the event takes place. So its better to select start and end date if the event occurs everyday till the end date.

Yes but it does not show the ongoing events, as per screenshot (e-calendar-module.png)
Can it look like the calendar on the events page, which shows all events?
Based on your screenshot, that is actually Jomsocial's events module(http://take.ms/H1m7K).

Currently there is no horizontal styling for the EasySocial Events module.

This is EasySocial's calendar module(http://take.ms/Q53Vj, http://take.ms/iqmDy).
does it have a way to notify event owners when the event is coming up next year
You can enable this setting to enable event reminders(http://take.ms/hroAJ).

Actually was just a cut/paste from events on the ES events page.
no horizontal fomatting ok. But can the J Events module show an event the same as in the Events page?
i.e. Photo and short description?

Yes, but can the calendar on the events page be displayed on Joomla pages?

Not entirely sure what you mean here. Do you mean you have J Events installed on the site?

There is a calendar module installed on the site when you install EasySocial. This would allow you to place the calendar module anywhere you want on your site as long as it renders the module

Sorry me bad. No jevents, just wanting to use the ES events module to display an event(s) on joomla pages in the same format that they show on the ES events page. i.e. a photo with text description below.
