That was known issue when you update via Easyblog updater, can you try download the latest installer from http://stackideas.com/dashboard then upload through in your Joomla installer, it should work fine.

OK, that fixed the issue. However when I tell it to crop the image I am not able to align the image in a center position like I can in the post cover options under the layout settings?

You have to uncheck this `use full width` option and set the alignment positon from your backend > Easyblog > settings > layout > post cover tab .

If still got issue, perhaps you can provide us with your site detail and which post you trying to make your image display on center position?

There is no use full width in the showcase option, that is the one I am trying to center and crop not the post cover option.

You can't currently use "full width" for post covers on showcase unfortunately. Because showcases generally have text on the left / right. Having it to set to full width would also mean that the contents would be pushed down
