Hi,

How can I configure Easydiscuss as a forum and Q&A? (All Easysocial, Easyblog, Komento & Easydiscuss in one site)

For forum, it's for all registered members and all post and reply stream to easysocial by default.

But for Q&A, I need one menu item to point to single parent category, Q&A. In this category, I want to hide who post it for privacy, and no stream to easysocial.

How do I achieve it?

Hello Syabab,

We are sorry but clone ED is not possible. As for the second category, it is possible to so but it is very tedious to maintain in the future. This is because you have to manually include every new category in particular php file.

This can be done through customization. You need to be able to tweak the code to achieve this. I can't access your FTP:
Error:	Could not connect to server

Hello Syahab,

I've tried to access your FTP but failed. I got this: Server closed connection.. By the way, I would like to clarify your requirement here, you want to have 2 categories:
First Category - is a public forum. Registered user will be able to post and reply. These activities will be post to Easysocial Stream.
Second Category - User still can post but you want to hide the author's name and avatar and this will not get posted in Easysocial Stream.

May I know which category you want it to be the second category?

I've made changes to ftp details.

First Category - is a public forum. Registered user will be able to post and reply. These activities will be post to Easysocial Stream.

yup, it's just a default Easydiscuss with some minor configuration.

The second category is a parent category to kinda different component. It has a menu link to only this category which display all of it's sub-categories. It's a public Q&A. Everyone can ask questions but only assigned moderator can answer it, via front end. And the topic is automatically locked after it has been answered.
User has 2 options to ask questions, either as registered user or as a guest user.

What about cloning ED to achive this? Is it possible? Just a thought

Ok...so I guest I'll use ED only as a Q&A. For forum Is different component.
