Hi,

Is it possible to have a module that shows nearby users and nearby events based on the location in the users profile?

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I am sorry but unfortunately we do not have such module that does this currently

You could achieve this with Geommunity, that got users and events included on a map. The starting point of the map is based on the location of the user.
