Hello again my friends,
This is now I believe my fourth install of EasySocial. It's just fantastic and is working flawlessly except for one thing. The problem appears to be a complex conflict across plugins and login modules.
Anyway, the Improved User Profile plugin is installed and apparently necessary for login and logout. But only when I disable it are users able to update their EasySocial profiles. In that scenario, everything is perfect. However, once the user has logged in, he can't log out. The logout link disappears from the login module. I am using the Improved Ajax Login and Register module and would like to keep that because it's so flexible. But I would be open to alternatives if that too turns out to be part of the problem.
When I re-enable the Improved User Profile plugin the logout link reappears. However, the EasySocial update profile function freezes up, seeming to go into an endless loop. In fact, if you try to log out from Update My Profile logout does go into a blank screen redirect loop.
To my knowledge all EasySocial plugins are properly enabled.
I'm thinking this is probably something you've seen before and am wondering if someone from Stack Ideas can take a quick look. As often is the case with my sites this is another big ambitious membership membership with lots of moving parts. The customer has taken a spin on EasySocial and is very stoked about everything it can do as far as fostering better internal communications.
I am including backend access. You can get to the site files directly from the back end via the extPlorer component.
Thanks as always,
-Jim Gribble
Hello Jim,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I remember I can login successfully in your frontend, but somehow suddenly can't login again. it show out this error message :
Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.

By the way, can you provide us with your FTP access and please do remember to set your Easysocial licensed domain on http://stackideas.com/dashboard
Please advise.

It appears to me that EasySocial is working fine; but I can't understand the conflict with the logout link. We also had an issue with admin alerts going out to a large group of users. But as I've been dissecting that over the last few hours I think again it's not a problem with the app but rather with the admin e-mail account I was given. The email blast may have been nothing more than copies to all the MS Outlook subscribers to the account. The problem is, I didn't originally build any of this and it's kind of messed up. I did update my account to register this new site. It is called newssyc.org but will shortly replace the old ssyc.org. If you really need FTP can do; but the back end files can be accessed right on the site through extPlorer. I know you don't like to debug issues with other third parthy apps but I'm hoping you'll at least take a quick look and suggest some answers.
One clue: When I set up the login module to display in dropdown on click or hover, that's when the probem happen. If I display the whole module the logout button does show as usual as a toggle. This problem did crop up only in the wake of EasySocial installation and so I think the two are related.
Thanks as always,

I also have learned that only after user updates profile does logout disable itself. Very strange. Do you have a login module that would work better?

Not sure what you mean. I don't see a reply here. Did you have a quick look at the site? Were you able to identify the problem. If so it is greatly appreciated. Yet I always want to know what was done so I can do it myself in the future without having to bother support staff.

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply, because my last reply already 2am last night.

I have checked in your site, it seems like some where your "Improved Ajax Login" broken their script, check my screenshot : http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-01-13_0921.png || http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-01-13_0922.png

Even go back homepage without Easysocial also hitting this -> http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-01-13_0925.png

Can I replace similar this module to use Easysocial module as well and see how it goes?

Regarding with your unwanted email issues, can you provide us a screenshot how the email content look like?

Now I can see your replies at last! I also thought of using the EasySocial login but it can't be configured as a compact dropdown. It's just too big for what I need. Do you have any other ideas? The triggering event that disables front end logout is when any user updates profile. What is it about that event that could be causing this disruption? Thank you very much for inquiring about the e-mails, but I appear to have solved that issue myself without need to bother you guys any further. Thanks for the screenshot of Ajax JS but I'm not sure it's "broken." It might be a scripting error by the developer but I don't think any adverse event happened here on the website.
Thanks,
-Jim G.

Yes Arlex, I noticed all of this when I checked back on the site today. It worked okay, except the default login led to EasySocial front page. We cannot have that because this site also has Hikashop and other login-only apps. On login the user has to stay on page. I finally concluded that the Ajax login would be difficult to implement because of its complexity with all the social login functions. So I fell back on my favorite basic login module - BT Login. The user now can log out... Except from any EasySocial page. If you try to log out from EasySocial, you stay logged in. If you navigate to any of the public pages, you can log out from there just fine. So now having experimented with three different logins I can say for certain that this is something with config of EasySocial. Front end logout is not possible from any EasySocial page except with your module which I unfortunately can't use per the above reasons. At least I feel we are closer to solving the puzzle. Thank you for your continued patience and attention.

Hello Jim,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,
It seems like BT login module is not support with EasySocial yet
Check my reference link : http://bowthemes.com/forums/topic/5141-easysocial-support/
Can you consult with BT login module provider regarding this?

Then please, what other login modules WILL support EasySocial? I cannot use your login because it is plain-looking, hard to customize and doesn't fit in the standard top login position and cannot be deployed as a compact dropdown toggle (now standard for all third-party login modules). To make it work I would need to do more custom coding and even then it wouldn't look nice. I don't have this issue with any of my other login-only-access components. Why is EasySocial the only one that causes this problem? It doesn't appear that you can help me. I would like to speak to someone else at Stack Ideas. I do however appreciate the time you have taken on this even though you weren't able to solve it.
Thanks again,
-Jim Gribble

Yet it does seem to work fine now. I am sorry we had this trouble. StackIdeas has the best support. Can you share the basics of what you did? Because I know I will be using EasySocial again and I always try to fix problems myself rather than bother Support. I did several customizations of other components on the site to either get them to work better or look better.
Many thanks,
-Jim Gribble

What i did is disable the "Enable com_users Redirection" from this system - Easysocial plugin.
So that it will not get redirection back to Easysocial. Hope this help.
